The ancient Greeks are seen as a Great Society but they contributed to these gender roles that still impact today.
Aristotle, the great Greek philosopher, once said: "the relation of male to female is by nature a relation of superior to inferior and ruler to ruled".
We can see the impact of this ancient Greek mindset today. Only 10% of the people on the Forbes list of most powerful people are women, and only 4.8% of fortune 500 CEOs are women.
Kofi Annan once said that gender equality is more than a goal in itself, it's a precondition for reducing poverty, sustainable development, and building good governance. These gender roles and norms began with Aristotle and Plato and they shouldn't be working in today's modern-day society we can be the ones to change it and establish a new norm. Step one to doing so change your mindset. View men as people and view women as people; don't expect them to act one way or another just because of their gender. Teach your child all the skills they need to know to survive, don't teach your daughter only how to cook and sew, and don't just teach your son how to build and fix. Your children can grow up to lead a more equal society.
When women have their voices heard, they transform the entire world.
But, women make up only 24% of all national parliaments and, only 6.3% number of international leaders. It matters, for women to be fully represented in the leadership of the world, in the leadership of the world
Women bring to leadership a special sensitivity. We need to change the stereotype that women are weak. A woman who is able to negotiate, to compromise, to find alternatives, is an example of strength. That's when you ensure, that people are given the dignity and rights they deserve. One needs to look at the constitutional change that includes affirmative action. Women have been neglected over the whole history of nations. Now is the time for preferential treatment for them.
The obstacles go beyond misogynistic handicaps. They're institutional, institutions are still dominated by men. We must make our institutions all over the world, stronger than the individual. So that the individual does not use discretion to dictate the participation of women.
Women at the top can push harder, but unless you have enough women in the system to give support, it can be a very difficult job.
I don't wanna shock anyone, I really don't, but the world still run by men. we must put women on all levels, right across society, no matter what area you look at.
You see enough women participating, enough women being able to move up, enough women challenging the status quo. That's the equality that we search for. And it's taking a while to get it, but it's coming, and no one can stop it.
This is an irreversible road.
It's no easy task taking the road less traveled but at the end of the day, the appreciation is worth it. Remember the most interesting stories are not of those who had it easy. We fall, we rise. But what's important is that we find our inner strength and stand tall.

Ma le donne costituiscono solo il 24% di tutti i parlamenti nazionali, e solo il 6,3% del numero di leader internazionali. E'importante che le donne siano pienamente rappresentate nella leadership mondiale.
Le donne portano alla leadership una sensibilità speciale. Dobbiamo cambiare lo stereotipo secondo cui le donne sono deboli. Una donna che sa negoziare, scendere a compromessi, trovare alternative, è un esempio di forza. È allora che ti assicuri che alle persone saranno concessi la dignità e i diritti che meritano. Bisogna guardare al cambiamento costituzionale che include l'azione affermativa. Le donne sono state trascurate in tutta la storia delle nazioni. Adesso è il momento di un trattamento preferenziale per loro.
Gli ostacoli vanno oltre gli handicap misogini. Sono istituzionali, le istituzioni sono ancora dominate dagli uomini. Dobbiamo rendere le nostre istituzioni in tutto il mondo, più forti dell'individuo, in modo che l'individuo non usi la discrezione per dettare la partecipazione delle donne.
